Newport Harbor Island Resort is turning two Saturdays this month into a cozy, candy-covered celebration with its Gingerbread House Workshops on December 13 and December 20. Guests gather on Goat Island from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM to design and decorate their own gingerbread homes, with every gumdrop, swirl of icing, and festive detail provided on site for 30 dollars per person.​
For Edge Realty’s Creative Edge readers, this is where holiday fun meets design thinking: building a gingerbread house is a playful reminder of how much character, charm, and imagination go into every real home in Newport County. From choosing your “roofline” in candy shingles to adding icing “trim,” the workshop invites you to experiment with color, structure, and curb appeal—no permits required.​
The workshop is open to both resort guests and locals, making it an easy seasonal outing before or after a morning of house-hunting, neighborhood touring, or holiday errands. After you finish your edible masterpiece, you can warm up with lunch at Torpedo Lounge or grab a hot chocolate from the on-site bakery before taking in winter harbor views on your way back to the mainland.
