“Sip & Paint”: Designing A Life You Love

Spring is when people feel an itch to refresh their surroundings—rearrange a corner, buy new cushions, or finally hang that art they’ve been saving. At Newport Vineyards in Middletown, Rhode Island, they’re taking that feeling one step further with a “Sip & Paint” afternoon that turns guests into artists for a day.

Hosted in collaboration with The Creative Space Art Studio, the event invites participants to paint their own stemless wine glasses while enjoying a curated wine flight. Guided by artist Kristen Rich, guests learn step‑by‑step floral designs that feel perfectly in tune with the season and walk away with a set of custom glasses to brighten their homes.

The Event: Creativity, Community, And A Little Wine

Scheduled for Saturday, March 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, the class takes place at Newport Vineyards, 909 East Main Road in Middletown, RI. For 55 dollars per person, attendees get a pre‑selected wine flight and a set of glasses to transform with one of three floral patterns. Advance tickets are required and, because of the art supplies, the class is non‑refundable—another reminder that creativity often asks for a small commitment before the magic begins.

The experience doesn’t stop at the easel. Guests are encouraged to make a day of it and dine before or after the class, turning a simple workshop into a full lifestyle moment on the property. Newport Vineyards has positioned the session as part of a broader March Madness series filled with events focused on community, creativity, and wellness, designed to help people “shake off the winter blues.”

Why It Inspires Us At Edge

At Edge, we don’t just talk about beautiful spaces—we care about how people experience them. Experiences like Sip & Paint are a great reminder that the most memorable moments often come from simple, shared activities that spark creativity and conversation. A pair of hand‑painted wine glasses on an open kitchen shelf or styled bar cart doesn’t just look good; it tells a story every time guests raise a toast.

This type of event is also a blueprint for community building: bring people together around a creative activity, add a relaxed setting and a touch of hospitality, and you get connections that feel natural rather than forced. When people see themselves creating, laughing, and trying something new in a space, they start to imagine a richer, more expressive version of their everyday life.

Creative Edge Takeaway

The Sip & Paint with The Creative Space Art Studio may be happening in Rhode Island, but the concept travels anywhere: blend a beautiful setting, a simple hands‑on activity, and a touch of hospitality, and you get an experience that sticks in people’s minds long after the event ends. For us at Edge, it’s a reminder that creativity is one of the most powerful tools we have—whether we’re curating an event calendar, styling a space, or just looking for new ways to bring people together around color, conversation, and a good glass of wine.
