New Year’s Eve 2023 is all about indulgence. This is a night where we should support our local restaurants by ordering the fanciest of takeout, sipping from the rarest bottles of wine and bubbles biting into the most decadent desserts and living it up at the most extravagant soirees. We’ll give you a head-start by outlining what’s available from some of our favorite places in Rhode Island for takeout, dining in and events to ring in 2024.

New Year’s Eve Reservations, Takeout, and Party Options

1.The Vanderbilt 

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection in Newport is planning an extravagant New Year’s Eve Fete. The party begins at 8 p.m. with endless champagne, handcrafted cocktails and dishes prepared by executive chef Tim Caspare, and live entertainment from the Golden Estate House Band. There will be tarot readings in the Parlour, as well as more surprises in the Vanderbilt’s Library. Guests will be invited to toast the New Year while gazing out on the Newport fireworks show. Guests can book online for $275 per person, which includes open bar and food.

2. Epic New Year’s Eve GOLD RUSH Dance Party 

This is your chance to sneak back into the former Dorrance in Providence after it’s been closed for so long. Nab tickets to the Epic New Year’s Eve GOLD RUSH Dance Party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at what is now called the Reserve on Dorrance. Wear gold! Tickets are $50 for general admission and $75 (reserved seating), plus an additional $30 for access to the Golden Bar, which includes unlimited miniature desserts and sparkling wine for two hours (open from 10 p.m.-midnight). Price includes service gratuity and food and beverage taxes.

3. A Downtown Motown New Year’s Eve 

Celebrate NYE with A Downtown Motown New Year’s Eve, a night of classic funk, R&B and soul in the heart of downtown Providence and the Providence G Ballroom. The evening kicks off at 8 p.m. with a cocktail hour featuring stationary appetizers including cheese and charcuterie and Mediterranean platter spreads and jumbo shrimp cocktails. Snap some photos in the Motown photo lounge and grab a libation from the bar. At 9 p.m., live music by the Dave Macklin Band begins and dinner stations open for the night featuring selections including winter salad, short rib, maple-bourbon salmon and honey glazed stuffed pork loin. After you’ve filled up on appetizers and dinner, dance the night away to the band’s classic funk, R&B and soul hits, as it gets closer to the midnight hour. Enjoy a dessert spread including assorted cupcakes, petit fours, macarons and chocolate truffles and then raise your glass of champagne for a midnight countdown to ring in 2024! Tickets are $132 for general admission and $162 for reserved seating, plus an Additional $36 for the open bar.

4. Providence G 

The Providence G Building has all kinds of New year’s Eve soirees, including at the Rooftop. There’s dinner and a show from 6-9 p.m. with a three-course dinner, then there’s the Ultimate Party Experience from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with acrobats, burlesque and novelty acts. The show involves live entertainment by singer and guitarist Adam Hanna performing from 6-9 p.m. NYE Dinner & a Show cost is $95 per person plus taxes and a 20 percent service gratuity. Complimentary Valet Parking. Reservations for Dinner and a Show does not include entry to the late-night Ultimate Party Experience event and programming. Seating is limited to two hours per table.  General Admission to the Ultimate NYE Party experience is available to purchase directly on Eventbrite and the cost $60 per person. This includes entry to the Rooftop beginning at 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Cash bar. Complimentary valet parking. All guests must be twenty-one years of age or older. A proper ID will be checked at the door.

5. The Chanler 

The Chanler Soirée will be a night to remember, combining the best of music, art and cuisine to ring in 2024. The evening will commence with crafted cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a lavish four-course dinner of scallop crudo, New England Whitefish or Wagyu Beef, and more complemented by live jazz from New York City-based band the Creswell Club, and capped off with an evening of dancing with music spun by an infamous Las Vegas deejay, a Tarot Card reader who may share a glimpse into what the new year has in store for party-goers, a photo booth, Champagne toast at midnight, late night bites, and of course, signature surprise and delight moments presented in classic Chanler style. Guests of the intimate twenty-room property will have guaranteed ticket availability (tickets will come at an additional cost), and locals are invited to make their way to the fabulous Cliff Walk abode for the occasion, but tickets are very limited. Tickets cost $300 each and can be purchased online.

6. Newport Playhouse and Cabaret Restaurant

7. Giusto 

For New Year’s Eve, Giusto in Newport will offer a luxurious version of its freestyle tasting menu. It’s $75 per person and includes items such as cacio e pepe gougeres, duck liver mousse, octopus winter citrus salad and Wagyu ribeye.

8. Little Sister 

Say goodbye to 2023 at Little Sister’s New Year’s Eve celebration. Tickets include a glass of champagne, hand-crafted Puerto Rican-inspired snacks by Chefs Milena and Darcy. There will also be a champagne toast at midnight complete with celebratory slices of one of Chef Pagán’s  delicious cakes. Additionally, Milena and Darcy curated a selection of their favorite wines in 2023 – including varietals acquired on a recent trip to Argentina and from winemakers with unique and interesting stories who the couple met this past year – which will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle

9. Bally’s Twin River Lincoln

Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort on New Year’s Ever to enjoy a captivating hypnotist show by Frank Santos Jr., live music by Felix Brown Band and dance music by Festive Events DJ. 10. Downtown Providence

The Providence Tourism Council and the City of Providence are bringing back the citywide New Year’s Eve celebration at the Michael Van Leesten Pedestrian Bridge on Sunday, December 31. At 195 Innovation District Park, festivities will illuminate the night from 5 to 9:30 p.m. The Guild will be onsite serving beverages to the 21+ crowd, while food trucks such as Masa Taqueria and A Mano Pizza, interactive art activations, and roaming entertainment (including the Providence Drum Troupe, Extraordinary Rendition Brass Band and local musician Jose Docen) will ensure enjoyment for all ages. There will also be a WaterFire lighting starting at 7 p.m., setting the stage for the Providence Tourism Council’s Illuminate PVD Fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. sharp.

11. Kin Southern Table and Bar Dinner

12. Mill’s Tavern 

Mill’s Tavern in Providence will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a number of festive specials. Mill’s a la carte holiday menu begins with a selection of raw bar, including oysters on the half shell, chilled poached shrimp (U10) and oysters caviar. Entrées feature port braised short rib; seared Long Island duck breast; peach braised lapin a la moutarde pappardelle; six different steak styles to choose from and more. Sides include red bliss mashed potato, fried Brussels sprouts, mac n’ cheese and wood roasted asparagus. Plus, libations like mulled cider and Domaine St. Vincent sparkling wine, as well as maple creme brulee, Portuguese bread pudding and sorbet for dessert. Mill’s will be serving from 5 to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and reservations can be made.

13. Courtland Club

Head to Courtland Club for a very special New Year’s Eve edition of Sunday Jazz with the Leland Baker Trio! Named “Best Local Jazz Spot” in Rhode Island Monthly’s Best of Rhode Island 2023, Courtland Club will have 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. seatings on NYE, each inclusive of a welcome cocktail, a four-course meal, a toast with a glass of real Champagne, and a live performance by the Leland Baker Trio. The cost of admission covers all of the above. They’ll also have a full bar available a la carte serving the Courtland Cocktails you know and love. In addition to the set menu below, they are offering a vegetarian modification upon request. New Year’s Eve is strictly a twenty-one-plus affair, and guests can choose table or bar/counter seating when reserving.

14. Oberlin

Oberlin in Providence is preparing a five-plus-course tasting menu for $150 per person for New Year’s Eve. There will also be a special after party planned with details for that to follow.

15. Gift Horse

Gift Horse and chef Haneul “Sky” Kim are hosting Han-jeongsik, a feast featuring an expansive display of house-made banchan (fifteen to be exact!) complementing aged Rhode Island duck from Gnarly Vines Farm. The meal will be split into three courses starting with Rhode Island oysters, followed by the Han-jeongsik, and dessert. Reservations are $125 per person. Gift Horse will also be doing a fun after party along with Oberlin to ring in the new year. Think burgers, fries, caviar and tunes.
